Unfortunately we had to cancel the Costa Challenge due to the lack of secured teams. With the final amount of teams presumable present at the starting line, we could not guarantee a realistic competition, so the decision to cancel the event had to be taken. A decision like that is not taken lightly, and we regret that we were not able to create a full Costa Challenge. However, we are in full convidence of having at least 10 teams present at the UK classic, the next event of the European Tour. And then, the competion continues.... | In 2009, it was The Costa Challenge that actually created the newly set European Tour, and marked the birth of a new series of nautical events throughout Europe. And, with having great settings in both temperatures and the amazing coast line, it is surely going to be a steady part of the coming European Tours as well! Snow covered mountains in sight Four rallies will be on the program of this event. And with very unpredictable oceans, all of them can differ in great range! On Friday, a magnificent rally to the northern border of Spain is on the program, mwaning great views of the snowy peaks of the Pyrenean mountains will try to distract the participants from focusing on the waves. On the way back, the warm Spanish culture welcomes the teams when they reach the beautiful bay of San Feliu again. Sparkling Barcelona Saturday will be the day of the classics, while rallying with high speeds into the waters of sparkling Barcelona! Entering this amazing city's harbour is already a rush feeling for which full participation is rewarding. Lunching on the boulevard beofre taking off again towards the final finish makes this experience a true sensation! Hotel Barcarola During the 2009 Costa Challenge, San Feliu de Guixols based Hotel Barcarola was the host for the Rib Rally. The hotel was a great place to relax and enjoy all the benefits of the Spanish coast after a long day of rallying. Situated only 50 meters from the beach Barcarola puts its guests as close to the Mediterranean as possible! In 2010 the Rib Rally returns to Barcarola. However, the hotel has changed dramatically since last year. No less than 40 rooms have been added and the hotel has been fully redecorated! Again, the Barcarola hotel will be the centre venue for the Costa Challenge.
